Simpsons or Family Guy?

I've heard a lot of talk over the last few years of people saying that they think Family Guy is better then the Simpsons.

As much as I love Family Guy and am watching it like right now... I don't agree with this knew trendy cult opinion.

We grew up with the Simpsons it was practically the beginning of all of these shows. Family guy was released back before we got any of the jokes because most of us were to young and it did poorly... then we all grew into it more or less and now everyone thinks its better.

I must admit the new episodes of the simpsons have changed and are just starting to get random like family guy but thats only so it can compete with it. It's kinda ironic... family guy was kinda a more cruder version on the simpsons and then the simpsons are now getting cruder to keep up with family guy.

I think its weird that kids grew up and became so sanitized by the humour in the simpsons that they had to create a show with more shock value like family guy. Sooner or later we'll see this change again and our children will be watching cartoon porn and ugly football faced babies murder each other and find that amusing... oh wait... that's practically almost happening ^_^

So in conclussion Simpsons good... Family guy good... Cartoon violence good... Ready Steady Cook bad.

I'd have to say The Simpsons is a lot more intelligent, and it's gay that they're trying to sort of dumb themselves down to compete with Family Guy when it was the subtle humour that people liked about The Simpsons. In saying that though, Family Guy is sometimes a lot more entertaining because of the crazy random crude shit. The characters in The Simpsons all have so much to their personalities. I think nothing tops old school Simpsons!

once it gained cult status it had barely any of the appeal that it once did.

the simpsons had like 3 good seasons.

and anything on Adult Swim is better then the two as well!!!

both very valid points. futurama is way better than the simpsons.
most things on adult swim are just funny as all hell
